    Dr. Terry Kowalke

Dr. Terry Kowalke is a North Winnipeg chiropractor who serves the Riverbend, Rivergrove areas and the surrounding communities in Manitoba .

Dr. Terry uses chiropractic care to improve the health and wellness in all areas of patient's lives, whether they are having problems with back pain or neck pain, or just want to start feeling better when they wake up in the morning. Dr. Terry takes a 'whole person' approach in chiropractic care, which means looking for the underlying causes of disease, discomfort, and pain, as opposed to just treating the symptoms. Many seemingly unrelated symptoms often arise from imbalances in the spinal column, and Dr. Terry will be able to determine the root of the pain and create a personalized chiropractic and wellness plan to suit each patient's individual needs. He has a passion for working with children and families and has years of experience working with infants, children, and pregnant mothers.

    EDUCATION AND CAREER

Dr. Terry began seeing a chiropractor in the late 1990's for a back injury. After getting amazing results he decided to become a chiropractor himself! After completing an advanced Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Manitoba, he moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota to attend Northwestern Health Sciences University.

Dr. Terry's true passion in chiropractic is taking care of children. As a child, he suffered for years with migraine headaches, but unfortunately, was not introduced to chiropractic until later in life. While interning with Dr. Anne Spicer at Bloomington Clinic, he gained an extensive knowledge of working with children and common pediatric conditions including colic, infantile reflux, and behavioral issues. 'Children are so much fun to work with because they have no desire to be sick or in pain, they just want to get better.'

Before completing his studies, Dr. Kowalke sat on the Board of Governers and volunteered at the Pillsbury House - a multi disciplined clinic in Minneapolis to provide free quality chiropractic, massage therapy, acupuncture and medical care for the less fortunate.

After graduating cum laude from NWHSU 2008, Dr. Terry worked in Minneapolis for 2 years before returning home to start his own practice.

' I have a vision...of a radically different health care system in this country. One that moves us from the current symptom based, sickness model…to one of true health, wellness and prevention. And I believe that chiropractic is going to be at the forefront of that movement. The true purpose of River North is to enhance the lives and health of the FAMILIES in our community. We know that in order to CHANGE THE WORLD you must start in your own back yard. To have healthy communities we have to start with healthy families.' - Dr. Terry Kowalke
